In the Sixth Garrison Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee's Military Investigative Main Department, necessary measures are being taken to find out all the circumstances of the death of serviceman Eric Gharsyan.

According to preliminary data, the serviceman reported that he received a gunshot wound in on August 9, 2022.

According to the received information, private Eric Gharsyan, a mandatory conscript soldier of the N military unit of the RA Defense Force, received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the firing position as a result of a shot fired from an AKM-type rifle attached to him in the chest area. On the same day, the serviceman was taken to the medical center, where his biological death was recorded.

Taking into account that there is a legal reason and basis for initiating criminal proceedings, in accordance with Article 522, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code (negligent suicide or suicide attempt by threatening, cruel treatment, or humiliating the personal honor and dignity of a serviceman in a military unit or another place of military service criminal proceedings were initiated in the Sixth Garrison Investigation Department of the Main Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

The investigative team has gone to the scene. Urgent and necessary investigative and other operational actions are being carried out.
