The Russian Foreign Ministry expresses serious concern regarding the escalation of tension in the Lachin Corridor and other parts of the contact line, according to the official statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"Russian peacekeepers are making all necessary efforts to stabilize the situation. Active work is being done with both parties through all channels and at all levels, including the country's top leadership. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, is in close contact with his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts," the report says.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation called on the parties to show restraint, to maintain the ceasefire regime, adding that the settlement of conflicts should be carried out exclusively by political and diplomatic means, taking into account the positions of the parties and the provisions of the November 9, 2020 announcement of the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan.

"We are convinced that the efforts of the parties should be focused on forming a positive agenda within the existing tripartite negotiation formats in relations between Baku and Yerevan," the official statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated.
